Activity’s Topic :
Experiment of elasticity Hooke’s Law
Activity’s Aim : Find
the relation between force and ratio of the change in length
Tools and Materials :
1.
Statif
2.
Hang load 50 gr
3.
Spiral spring
4.
Ruler
Procedure
1. Hang the spring in the statif like shown in the experiment design
2. Measure the spring's length using ruler as the original length (l0)
3. Note the result in the observation table
4. Hang the load on the string then measure the length as (l)
5. Note the result on the observation table
6. Repeat the 5th step by add one more load to complete the observation table

Observation Result
1. Note the observation’s result in the table below
Original stpring’s length (l0)

Change in length
∆l = ( l – l0 ) m

2. Draw the graph of applied force versus
elongation.
3.Based on the graph, determine the spring’s
constant.
4. Call the reasons that caused the observation
failed.
